Statistics for (w)rappers

Ever wondered what psychology students do in their free time between classes? Well here is the answer. Of course it’s only one answer which would be statistically irrelevant. Some psychology students at University of Oregon thought a rap video about their ordeals in learning stats would be interesting – it’s very funny if you can understand what their on about ūüėČ

If you’re into stats for psychology have at Ed’s Statistics Home Page. He’s got some excellent stuff there (Answers to Questions about Statistics in Psychology).

OU Icon for your Desktop

OU Logo, Copyright Open University 2006Here is a little icon I made for my WinXP Desktop. Just download the .ico file and place it in the folder where you keep your OU stuff. Then create a shortcut to that folder on your desktop or in your task bar or wherever you want. Right click on the shortcut and select “Properties”. Then click on the “Change Icon” button and select the ou.ico in¬†the OU Folder. The¬†folder icon should now change to the OU Icon. It has 3 sizes: 48×48, 32×32 and 16×16 Pixels and uses the alpha channel.

OU TMA Template

If you studying at the OU, you will perhaps know that TMAs (Tutor marked assignments) have certain requirements in regard to layout and text. Here a Word template which will make your TMAs look nicer (hopefully). I’ve had a lot of praise from Tutors for it, so if you like it, you may use it freely. You will probably need MS¬†Word 2000 or 2003 for the template to work well. Have not tested it in other Word versions.

Social Psychology TMA 5

I’m off to Revision School in Dublin (All Hollows College) on Friday (much looking forward to the trip¬†where I will be able to me up with my sister too)¬†and have to get TMA 5 finished and sent off for D317 before I go, which is easier said than done. Decided to go for option A (about control and power in relationships), which is very broad but nicer than option B.¬†At present I seem to be surrounded by¬†issues of control and power in relationships (at least 3¬†couples I know are about to or have just broken up). Although I wanted to get the whole structure worked out today, I more or less managed no more than some rough notes. Maybe I will try and have another go this evening, when I feel more guilty ;).
